Why You’ll Love It
A fascinating and exceptionally rare behind-the-scenes glimpse into Randall Zadar’s creative process, this retired 1997 Randall Zadar “Learning to Fly” Studio Sample Set captures the evolution of a miniature from concept to completed work. Produced as #31 of Zadar’s creations, this remarkable three-piece studio set includes the original blue wax sculpt, a natural bronze casting, and the final white enamel painted version, each depicting two tiny birds preparing for their first flight. Originally offered during an exclusive Dallas store event, only five complete sets were ever sold, making this one of Zadar’s rarest and most elusive releases. Crafted using the ancient lost wax bronze casting process, each Randall Zadar miniature began as a hand-sculpted wax original before moving through the various casting and finishing stages. Rich with artistry, process, and history, this extraordinary set offers collectors a rare opportunity to own a tangible look into the making of miniature art itself and makes a captivating display for a dollhouse study, collector’s cabinet, or miniature artist’s workspace.
