Why You’ll Love It
An enchanting Chippendale block-front serpentine chest of drawers, masterfully hand carved from rich pearwood by the legendary IGMA Fellow Mark Gooch, signed and dated 2007. The drawer fronts feature a highly complex, hand-carved reverse serpentine shape, where the wood swells outward at the sides and recesses in the center. The bottom skirt is highlighted by a beautifully crisp, hand-carved central scroll ornament. The chest stands on short, robust cabriole legs ending in flawlessly executed ball-and-claw feet. It is fitted with twelve highly detailed, authentic brass batwing escutcheons and drop-swing handles that perfectly complement the warm grain of the pearwood.
Perfect for a Georgian bedroom, Chippendale townhouse, colonial manor, gentleman's dressing room, or historic museum setting.
