Why You’ll Love It
This is a museum-grade 1:12 scale Chippendale dressing table (often historically referred to as a lowboy), handcrafted in 2007 by IGMA Fellow Mark Gooch. It is a breathtaking companion piece to the ribbon-back armchairs we have listed from the same collection. The central bottom drawer features an incredibly crisp, hand-carved relief design showcasing an ornate open flower head flanked by symmetrical acanthus leaf scrolls. The scalloped bottom skirt (or apron) is centered with a beautiful hand-carved scallop shell motif. The piece stands on four perfectly balanced S-curved cabriole legs. The front legs feature acanthus-carved knees and taper down into flawlessly executed ball-and-claw feet. It is fitted with highly detailed, authentic brass pierced escutcheons and swing handles that match 18th-century English styling.
Perfect for a Georgian drawing room, Chippendale dining room, stately library, formal parlor, or gentleman's study.
