Inspired by antique Meissen porcelain, this retired 2015 Randall Zadar miniature titled “Cupid with Flowers” depicts a tiny kneeling cherub offering a bouquet of flowers, with delicate gilt accents and soft pastel enameling. Piece 5 of 6 in Zadar’s celebrated Porcelain Set, it references an elaborate porcelain tableau of a lady attended by cherubs in the clouds. Crafted in hand-painted cold-painted bronze enamel using the ancient lost wax bronze casting process, each began as a hand-sculpted wax original before being individually cast and meticulously finished by the artist. Hand numbered 23/50, this enchanting micro miniature makes a beautiful shelf sitter for a dollhouse vanity, boudoir, or rococo display.
