A wonderfully delicate cherub figurine inspired by antique Meissen porcelain, this retired 2015 Randall Zadar miniature titled “Cupid with Mirror” depicts a tiny winged cupid floating upon swirling pastel clouds while presenting a miniature mirror. Piece 6 of 6 in Zadar’s celebrated Porcelain Set, it references an elaborate porcelain tableau of a lady attended by cherubs in the clouds. Crafted in hand-painted cold-painted bronze enamel using the ancient lost wax bronze casting process, each piece began as a hand-sculpted wax original before being individually cast and meticulously finished by the artist. Hand numbered 23/50, this enchanting micro miniature makes a lovely shelf sitter for a dollhouse vanity, parlor, or rococo display.
