Why You’ll Love It

Youthful, elegant, and richly adorned, this exquisite Catherine Howard marionette captures the beauty and splendor of Henry VIII's fifth queen in remarkable miniature form. Handcrafted by artisan Almudena Gonzalez, this finely detailed puppet combines historical Tudor fashion with the enchanting character of a traditional marionette, making it a wonderful addition to collections of royal figures, historical miniatures, and theatrical dolls.

The Queen has an elegant hand-painted porcelain face, styled with brunette hair beneath an intricate gold-trimmed Gable hood headdress with a trailing net veil. She has a diamond necklace and is dressed in a lavish, youthfully styled Tudor court gown featuring a deep burgundy velvet overskirt. The overskirt splits in the front with metallic gold wavy lace trim, revealing a matching patterned underskirt woven with a red diamond-pattern lattice. A gold chain waist sash with a hanging pink gemstone pendant completes the regal look. She hangs suspended by fine black strings from a miniature wooden controller.

Perfect for a puppet theater, Tudor court scene, royal palace, historical vignette, miniature museum display, an old world nursery or playroom, or a collection of artisan marionettes and period characters.

A Note About Value

Every miniature we offer has been carefully evaluated for its craftsmanship, rarity, condition, provenance, and collectibility. Many of the artisan pieces we sell are one-of-a-kind works that may never appear on the market again. While original retail prices provide an interesting historical reference, they rarely reflect decades of appreciation, the artist's legacy, or the scarcity of surviving examples.

Our pricing reflects the miniature's place within today's collector market and the years we've spent studying the artists, histories, and values that make these tiny works of art so special.

A Commitment to Research

Every miniature has a story, and uncovering it is one of our greatest passions. We carefully research each piece, but unsigned or illegible works can remain mysteries. If you can identify an artist or provide additional information, we'd be delighted to hear from you and will gladly update the listing to preserve their legacy.
