Why You’ll Love It

Elegant, romantic, and unmistakably French, this exquisite 1:12 scale ladies' writing desk and matching chair has been beautifully transformed by Aurearte Miniatures of Barcelona, Spain. Originally produced by Bespaq, each piece has been completely refinished, hand-painted, and artistically embellished by Aurearte, elevating it into a one-of-a-kind work of miniature furniture art. Inspired by the Louis XV Rococo period, the bureau de dame features flowing cabriole legs, a scalloped apron, and a functioning slant-front writing surface. Aurearte's signature distressed cream finish is accented with warm gilt highlights. The slant-front panel is decorated with an exquisite hand-painted floral swag surrounding an ornate raised gilt cartouche, all framed with delicate gold borders. Beneath the writing surface sits a functional drawer fitted with a tiny brass pull. The matching Louis XV side chair features a beautifully executed faux-caned backrest and circular seat, graceful cabriole legs, and distressed finish with gilded accents.

Together they create a charming writing vignette worthy of an elegant French château, refined salon, or sophisticated lady's dressing room. Easily displayed with miniature correspondence, books, or treasured accessories,.

A Note About Value

Every miniature we offer has been carefully evaluated for its craftsmanship, rarity, condition, provenance, and collectibility. Many of the artisan pieces we sell are one-of-a-kind works that may never appear on the market again. While original retail prices provide an interesting historical reference, they rarely reflect decades of appreciation, the artist's legacy, or the scarcity of surviving examples.

Our pricing reflects the miniature's place within today's collector market and the years we've spent studying the artists, histories, and values that make these tiny works of art so special.

A Commitment to Research

Every miniature has a story, and uncovering it is one of our greatest passions. We carefully research each piece, but unsigned or illegible works can remain mysteries. If you can identify an artist or provide additional information, we'd be delighted to hear from you and will gladly update the listing to preserve their legacy.
