Why You’ll Love It
A richly theatrical and very early miniature, this retired 1997 Randall Zadar piece titled “Sleeper Awakened” features a reclining gentleman being gently roused beside an elaborate pink chimney, twisting bronze branches, rococo scrollwork, and a seated musician. Produced as #29 of Zadar’s creations, this cold-painted bronze micro miniature was inspired by an antique Severe porcelain modeled by Anton Bustelli and was limited to only 77 painted examples ever made. Crafted using the ancient lost wax bronze casting process, each piece began as a hand-sculpted wax original before being individually cast and meticulously hand-finished by Randall Zadar. Full of movement, color, and storybook detail, this rare treasure makes a wonderful shelf sitter for a dollhouse parlor, music room, rococo vignette, or collector’s cabinet.
