Why You’ll Love It
Whimsical and wonderfully expressive, this OOAK “Miniature Mouse Dancer” by Aleah Klay captures a moment of delightful chaos. A graceful white-furred mouse ballerina, dressed in a soft pink and yellow layered dress, spins mid-step as three tiny telephones ring insistently around her—each one curling toward her on delicate coiled wires. Her pose is elegant yet animated, as if caught between poise and urgency, embodying the playful tension of modern interruptions. As the final piece in Klay’s beloved Phone Series, it carries a special narrative charm, further enriched by the artist’s own words reflecting the ever-present call of connection. Every detail—from her expressive eyes to the sculpted motion of the cords—brings this scene vividly to life.

About the Artist
Aleah Klay is a self-taught American miniaturist based in Salt Lake City, Utah, celebrated for her exquisitely detailed, one-of-a-kind (OOAK) micro-sculptures. Working at an astonishing scale—often just ½ inch to 1¼ inches tall—she hand-sculpts each figure from polymer clay over a wire armature, using a sewing needle to achieve remarkable precision. Her work is instantly recognizable for its whimsical, storybook charm, often depicting anthropomorphic animals and innocent, fairy-tale characters brought to life with delicately applied fibers and hand-painted features. Deeply inspired by childhood wonder and imagination, each piece carries its own quiet narrative—tiny, soulful, and increasingly rare as her work has become difficult to find in recent years.
Please Note: One OOAK Aleah Klay “Miniature Mouse Dancer” sculpture with three sculpted telephones attached, and the Certificate of Authenticity. Any additional figures, furniture, or styling accessories shown in photographs are for display inspiration only and are not included.
A Note About Value
Every miniature we offer has been carefully evaluated for its craftsmanship, rarity, condition, provenance, and collectibility. Many of the artisan pieces we sell are one-of-a-kind works that may never appear on the market again. While original retail prices provide an interesting historical reference, they rarely reflect decades of appreciation, the artist's legacy, or the scarcity of surviving examples.
Our pricing reflects the miniature's place within today's collector market and the years we've spent studying the artists, histories, and values that make these tiny works of art so special.
A Commitment to Research
Every miniature has a story, and uncovering it is one of our greatest passions. We carefully research each piece, but unsigned or illegible works can remain mysteries. If you can identify an artist or provide additional information, we'd be delighted to hear from you and will gladly update the listing to preserve their legacy.
