WHY YOU’LL LOVE IT: This captivating 1:12 scale soft-colored etching of Balmoral Castle, nestled in the majestic Scottish Highlands was created by John Anthony Miller in 1982. This exquisite piece, presented in a custom frame, offers a glimpse into the history and enduring charm of the royal residence with a rich heritage. Originally a hunting lodge, it was transformed into a grander residence by Queen Victorian and Prince Albert in the mid-19th century. The castle has since become a favorite retreat for the British Royal Family. This is the perfect addition for any miniature collector with a penchant for history or royal charm. This piece is numbered 147 of only 250 made. His etchings are made on copper and then he uses a ground down sewing needle so that he can get just the right sized point to scratch the lines into a dark wax surface that covers the polished copper.  After the drawing is completed, the plate is put into an acid bath which etches the lines into the plate. The wax is removed and the plate is inked and pressed onto paper. At the end of Mr. Miller's production, the original plate was destroyed. There is an additional certificate to go with this piece.

STYLING: This print would be a lovely addition to various interior design styles. Hang it above a fireplace or sofa to create a focal point for your dollhouse living room. The sepia tones will add a touch of history and sophistication, and the image of the castle will spark conversation. You can flank the print with sconces for added drama or curate a gallery wall around it with other Scottish-themed prints or landscape photographs. Also fabulous for pairing with a comfy armchair, perhaps in a study or library!
