Why You’ll Love It
Whimsical, beautifully tailored, and unmistakably imaginative, this charming youth-sized rocking chair was created by miniature artisan June Sprigg Tooley, known for her wonderfully detailed upholstered furnishings under Tooley’s Tiny Pillows.
The hand-painted wooden frame is cleverly constructed around a pair of stylized cat silhouettes, their bodies forming the sides of the chair while curved rockers run beneath their feet. Soft aqua and green textiles give the piece a fresh, playful character, with an elephant motif on the backrest and coordinating animal imagery on the round upholstered side panels.
The finishing details are especially delightful: tiny tassels hang from the upper corners, braided cords form the cats’ collars, miniature silver bells dangle beneath their chins, and petite buttons, beads, and decorative trim add layers of carefully considered detail. Even at this tiny scale, the chair has the beautifully finished, textile-rich quality for which Tooley’s work is admired.
Sized as a child’s or youth chair in 1:12 scale, this playful rocker would be wonderful in a dollhouse nursery, child’s bedroom, playroom, or storybook-inspired interior. It is a particularly charming example of June Sprigg Tooley’s ability to transform a functional piece of miniature furniture into something filled with personality.

A Note About Value
Every miniature we offer has been carefully evaluated for its craftsmanship, rarity, condition, provenance, and collectibility. Many of the artisan pieces we sell are one-of-a-kind works that may never appear on the market again. While original retail prices provide an interesting historical reference, they rarely reflect decades of appreciation, the artist's legacy, or the scarcity of surviving examples.
Our pricing reflects the miniature's place within today's collector market and the years we've spent studying the artists, histories, and values that make these tiny works of art so special.
A Commitment to Research
Every miniature has a story, and uncovering it is one of our greatest passions. We carefully research each piece, but unsigned or illegible works can remain mysteries. If you can identify an artist or provide additional information, we'd be delighted to hear from you and will gladly update the listing to preserve their legacy.
