Why You’ll Love It
This extraordinary Victorian lady doll was made by the late, celebrated artisan Marcia Backstrom. Rather than standing formally, she appears to be gliding through a bustling street, foyer, or elegant promenade, lifting her skirts as she walks with a flirtacious expression. She has arched dark brows, deep expressive eyes, and red lips that give her a slightly mischievous air. Her towering Gibson Girl coiffure rises beneath a magnificent black hat adorned with dramatic feathers, silk rosettes, and delicate netting. Rich bronze-brown silk cascades into graceful folds, combined with layers of antique ivory lace and a striking black lace shawl. The tiny black reticule (handbag) and delicate lace fan finishes her look.
Perfect for a Victorian street scene, opera house, elegant shopping district, theater lobby, grand hotel, formal parlor, promenade, or society gathering vignette.
