Why You’ll Love It
This extraordinary OOAK Victorian dowager widow by acclaimed miniature artist Marcia Backstrom ORIGINAL doll from the 1990s. She captures the quiet drama and presence of a woman in mourning. Sculpted in clay. She has a lined aging face, slightly stooped posture, and thoughtful gaze, peering over tiny spectacles. She is richly dressed in layered antique textiles, including deep plum and black velvet, aged silk, and delicate lace, finished with a fur-trimmed wrap and an elaborate mourning hat adorned with ribbon and feather accents. Black gloves, a reticule, and carefully gathered skirts complete the look, making her a compelling character for a formal parlor, Victorian scene, or period vignette.
