Why You’ll Love It
Meet “Madame DuPont,” an unforgettable, one-of-a-kind society matron sculpted entirely in clay by the late and highly regarded doll artist Marcia Backstrom. She is a curvaceous, commanding woman who expects the best table at lunch and knows precisely how to hold a room in the palm of her perfectly manicured hand.
Her sculpted face is mature and expressive. She has arched brows, rouged lips and her hair is swept into an elaborate updo crowned with feathers, netting, and roses... a headpiece that announces her arrival before she speaks.
She is wrapped in a voluminous fur stole and her gown has layers of translucent lace over soft blush undertones. Draped across her ample bosom are multiple strands of gold chain, and a breathtaking genuine opal pendant. She carries a delicate evening bag and holds a slender gold leash with elegant authority.
At her side stands her devoted companion — a beautifully sculpted and artisan-signed clay dog created by Canadian artist Karl Blindheim, dated 2007. The little dog is as refined as his mistress.
