Its richly sculpted base is fashioned in English silver with a luminous gold vermeil overlay, featuring two sweeping front cabriole legs, pierced foliate ornament, scrolling acanthus leaves, and a beautifully modeled female mascaron face at the center. It is designed to stand against a wall. Above rests a custom-contoured slab of richly figured natural Red Jasper, polished to a jewel-like finish. Remarkably heavy for its scale, this is a true collector’s piece showcasing Hodgson’s extraordinary craftsmanship.
