Why You’ll Love It
A beautifully coordinated set of three vintage Mini Mundus porcelain apothecary jars, inspired by the elegant drug and medical containers found in 18th Century European pharmacies. This style (Style A) features squat baluster-shaped bodies with fitted lids, flared feet, crisp cobalt blue banding, and delicate gold accents against glossy white porcelain. Each jar bears a different Latin inscription representing a historic medicinal preparation, from ancient antidotes and universal cure-alls to herbal extracts and flavored syrups.
- ORVIETAN - Orvietan, a historic Italian compound preparation promoted as an antidote against poisons.
- TYRIACA – Theriac, an ancient compound remedy historically used as an antidote for venomous bites and later regarded as a universal cure-all.
- EXT. FUMARIA - Extract of fumitory, an herbal preparation traditionally associated with the skin, blood purification, and liver function.
Displayed together on the shelves of a miniature apothecary, in a physician’s cabinet, or an 18th-century interior, they create a wonderfully convincing sense of period detail.

A Note About Value
Every miniature we offer has been carefully evaluated for its craftsmanship, rarity, condition, provenance, and collectibility. Many of the artisan pieces we sell are one-of-a-kind works that may never appear on the market again. While original retail prices provide an interesting historical reference, they rarely reflect decades of appreciation, the artist's legacy, or the scarcity of surviving examples.
Our pricing reflects the miniature's place within today's collector market and the years we've spent studying the artists, histories, and values that make these tiny works of art so special.
A Commitment to Research
Every miniature has a story, and uncovering it is one of our greatest passions. We carefully research each piece, but unsigned or illegible works can remain mysteries. If you can identify an artist or provide additional information, we'd be delighted to hear from you and will gladly update the listing to preserve their legacy.
