Why You’ll Love It
A beautifully coordinated set of six vintage Mini Mundus amber glass apothecary bottles, inspired by the traditional storage vessels found in historic European pharmacies. Style F features cylindrical amber glass bodies with narrow necks and matching ground glass stoppers, each finished with a shield-shaped paper label outlined in deep blue. The warm amber glass gives this grouping a wonderfully authentic dispensary appearance while the individual Latin labels represent a fascinating range of chemical, mineral, botanical, and alcoholic preparations.
- OL ANIS – Oil of anise, an essential oil distilled from aniseed and traditionally valued for relieving digestive gas, soothing coughs, and flavoring bitter medicines.
- ESS CASTOR – Essence of castoreum, a historic tincture made from a secretion produced by beavers and traditionally valued as an antispasmodic and sedative for convulsions and nervous disorders.
- SAL AMM – Ammonium chloride, a mineral salt historically used as an expectorant to help loosen and clear respiratory secretions, as well as in other pharmaceutical preparations.
- A ANTIM – Antimony water, a historic medicinal preparation administered in carefully controlled amounts to induce vomiting or encourage perspiration.
- SPIR SAPON – Spirit of soap, an alcoholic soap preparation historically used externally as a liniment for rubbing sore muscles and joints and as a cleansing skin wash.
- A ANTIM – A second bottle of antimony water, the historic medicinal preparation administered in carefully controlled amounts to induce vomiting or encourage perspiration.
This varied collection is a wonderfully convincing addition to a miniature apothecary, physician’s cabinet, laboratory, or historic pharmacy interior.

A Note About Value
Every miniature we offer has been carefully evaluated for its craftsmanship, rarity, condition, provenance, and collectibility. Many of the artisan pieces we sell are one-of-a-kind works that may never appear on the market again. While original retail prices provide an interesting historical reference, they rarely reflect decades of appreciation, the artist's legacy, or the scarcity of surviving examples.
Our pricing reflects the miniature's place within today's collector market and the years we've spent studying the artists, histories, and values that make these tiny works of art so special.
A Commitment to Research
Every miniature has a story, and uncovering it is one of our greatest passions. We carefully research each piece, but unsigned or illegible works can remain mysteries. If you can identify an artist or provide additional information, we'd be delighted to hear from you and will gladly update the listing to preserve their legacy.
