The assortment represents a remarkable cross-section of early pharmacy preparations:
- A NITRUM – Nitre water, historically used in fever mixtures, as a cooling diuretic, and in various pharmaceutical and chemical preparations.
- OL ANIS – Oil of anise, an essential oil distilled from aniseed and valued for easing digestive discomfort, soothing coughs, and flavoring bitter medicines.
- ESS CASTOR – Essence of castoreum, a tincture prepared from beaver castoreum and historically used as an antispasmodic and sedative in treatments for convulsions and nervous disorders.
