Why You’ll Love It
This vintage, sophisticated Marcia Backstrom Victorian dollhouse doll was handcrafted in 1994. Her clay-sculpted face is rich with personality, featuring deep-set painted blue eyes, realistic wrinkles, and a gentle but slightly sassy expression. She is dressed in a stunning soft peach and cream striped silk gown is layered beneath a luxurious antique lace blouse, and antique cream lace shawl cascading across her shoulders. The dramatic ensemble is crowned by a FABULOUS Victorian hat adorned with antique striped silk, silk ribbon work, feather plumes and a glass beaded hatpin that frame her elegantly styled flaming red hair. Her left hand is perfectly shaped to hold a glass of champagne peacefully in one hand, suggesting a lady returning from a promenade, afternoon visit, or social engagement. She is in a fixed sitting position.
Perfect for a Victorian streetscape, grand townhouse, garden promenade, afternoon calling scene or elegant parlor or perhaps even a ride in a boat.
