WHY YOU’LL LOVE IT: This is a beautiful hand painted antique miniature framed portrait of a lady. Her beauty is perfectly captured in rich oil paints on a paper thin piece of porcelain. The neckline of a pink gown with ruffled collar can be seen, and her curled blonde tresses swept away from her face give her a romantic appeal. The front has the name of the artist as Darek. The frame has a ring of antique gold acanthus leaves. On the back side is very old fabric for the backing and the frame has tiny wings that hold the fabric in place. I did not want to remove the backing. The former owners purchased many unique oil portraits while in Europe for their gallery room box, most were from jewelers and antique stores in France, England and Italy.
STYLING: Hang this portrait on a prominent wall in your dollhouse living room or bedroom. The ornate frame and romantic subject will make it a conversation starter. Create a gallery wall featuring the portrait alongside other vintage paintings for a touch of history.

A Note About Value
Every miniature we offer has been carefully evaluated for its craftsmanship, rarity, condition, provenance, and collectibility. Many of the artisan pieces we sell are one-of-a-kind works that may never appear on the market again. While original retail prices provide an interesting historical reference, they rarely reflect decades of appreciation, the artist's legacy, or the scarcity of surviving examples.
Our pricing reflects the miniature's place within today's collector market and the years we've spent studying the artists, histories, and values that make these tiny works of art so special.
A Commitment to Research
Every miniature has a story, and uncovering it is one of our greatest passions. We carefully research each piece, but unsigned or illegible works can remain mysteries. If you can identify an artist or provide additional information, we'd be delighted to hear from you and will gladly update the listing to preserve their legacy.
