A wonderfully romantic and exceptionally scarce Randall Zadar miniature, this retired 2001 piece titled “The Shepherdess” depicts an elegant pastoral scene inspired by classic European porcelain figures, featuring a seated lady in flowing blue and cream garments beside a young shepherd beneath a lush flowering tree. Delicate hand-painted details and soft colorwork create remarkable depth despite its tiny scale. Produced as #66 of Zadar’s creations, this micro miniature was especially limited, with only 22 examples ever produced in this hand-painted color version. Crafted using the ancient lost wax bronze casting process, each piece began as a hand-sculpted wax original before being individually cast and meticulously hand-finished by Randall Zadar. Rich in storybook charm and Rococo character, this tiny treasure makes a beautiful shelf sitter for a dollhouse parlor, garden scene, or romantic vignette.
