Why You’ll Love It
A beautifully detailed 1:12 scale hand-sculpted clay physician by Maria Jesus Chaparro, depicting an elderly doctor with an especially warm, expressive face. He features soft white hair, thick white brows, a curled white mustache, and finely modeled age lines, giving him the look of an experienced 19th-century traveling physician.
He is dressed in a dark textured charcoal overcoat and matching trousers, layered over a richly patterned brown waistcoat, white collared shirt, and blue cravat-style tie. A finely detailed miniature stethoscope hangs around his neck, clearly establishing his medical profession. He carries a classic black leather-style Gladstone doctor’s bag with metallic trim in one hand and a slender black walking cane with metallic tip and handle detailing in the other. Sculpted dark brown dress shoes complete the ensemble.
Perfect for
A Victorian doctor’s office, apothecary, country house call, hospital scene, railway platform, study, or period street vignette. He would also be ideal as a family physician, country doctor, medical professor, or traveling doctor.

A Note About Value
Every miniature we offer has been carefully evaluated for its craftsmanship, rarity, condition, provenance, and collectibility. Many of the artisan pieces we sell are one-of-a-kind works that may never appear on the market again. While original retail prices provide an interesting historical reference, they rarely reflect decades of appreciation, the artist's legacy, or the scarcity of surviving examples.
Our pricing reflects the miniature's place within today's collector market and the years we've spent studying the artists, histories, and values that make these tiny works of art so special.
A Commitment to Research
Every miniature has a story, and uncovering it is one of our greatest passions. We carefully research each piece, but unsigned or illegible works can remain mysteries. If you can identify an artist or provide additional information, we'd be delighted to hear from you and will gladly update the listing to preserve their legacy.
