Why You’ll Love It
This 1:12 scale functional miniature suitcase by Sylvia Rountree of The Dolls Cobbler is a beautifully detailed interpretation of vintage travel luggage, complete with realistic hardware, travel decals, and a fully finished interior.
The exterior features a distinctive reddish-purple faux-alligator texture framed with smooth brown leather edging and reinforced corner guards. Tiny gold-toned brass flip latches flank the curved leather carrying handle, while a miniature brass key hangs from the front. The case is decorated with colorful vintage-style travel labels, including references to London, Grand Hotel Paris, the Ritz Hotel, and the Orient Express.
When opened, the suitcase reveals a carefully finished interior lined in taupe fabric printed with a red floral toile pattern. The lid includes a slim leather retaining strap with tiny buckle, while the lower compartment features a shirred fabric storage pocket, replicating the fitted organization found inside full-size vintage luggage.
This suitcase is one of three coordinating Sylvia Rountree luggage pieces currently available. The matching pieces are listed separately.

A Note About Value
Every miniature we offer has been carefully evaluated for its craftsmanship, rarity, condition, provenance, and collectibility. Many of the artisan pieces we sell are one-of-a-kind works that may never appear on the market again. While original retail prices provide an interesting historical reference, they rarely reflect decades of appreciation, the artist's legacy, or the scarcity of surviving examples.
Our pricing reflects the miniature's place within today's collector market and the years we've spent studying the artists, histories, and values that make these tiny works of art so special.
A Commitment to Research
Every miniature has a story, and uncovering it is one of our greatest passions. We carefully research each piece, but unsigned or illegible works can remain mysteries. If you can identify an artist or provide additional information, we'd be delighted to hear from you and will gladly update the listing to preserve their legacy.
