Rich with Old World character, this Tudor/Gothic-style wooden coffer brings the look of a medieval manor or castle interior to miniature scale. The warm, aged wood is beautifully contrasted by five deeply recessed Gothic tracery panels, each carved with pointed-arch and cusped motifs inspired by period architectural ornament. A functional hinged overhanging lid opens to reveal a deep storage compartment, making the piece both decorative and wonderfully usable within a scene. It has an authentically rustic, centuries-old appearance. The design would be equally at home in a Tudor great hall, bedchamber, monastery, castle, or medieval merchant's home.
