A charming bit of Tudor food history in miniature, this platter features seven small traditional chewitts (or chewets) meat pies, arranged together on a pewter plate. These individual savory pies were made in sturdy pastry cases historically known as “coffins” or “coffyns." Each tiny pie has a golden baked finish and visible meat filling, creating a wonderfully convincing addition to a period feast table. It was lovingly handmade by the artist Val Adams of Gramarye Keep in the UK.
